Yoga is defined as a deep union of the human soul with God. Yoga is a form of art that considers the mind, body, and soul of a person in order to achieve Divinity. The Ashtanga Yogas—Yama, Niyama, Asanas, and Pranayama—must purify and strengthen the body. Through Prathyaharam, Dharana, Dhyanam, and Samadhi, the mind must be cleansed of all grossness. As a result, if a man wishes to become a yogic adept, his soul must turn within. The mind is cleansed by knowledge, and the soul is guided to God by surrender.
